DONATE TO SAVANNAH HOMELESS AUTHORITY

Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless

Established in 1989 with the mission to create ”A Community Free of Homelessness" the Homeless Authority is comprised of representatives of state and local government, social services, private sector partners, and faith based organizations. The Authority coordinates the work of public, nonprofit and faith based service organizations throughout the community to plan, organize and deliver community services designed to end homelessness.

The Authority also coordinates direct services for homeless families and individuals through a "continuum of care" of community services ranging from street outreach and emergency shelters to employment training and permanent housing. Our unified community case management team works with local community services to ensure that families and individuals experiencing homelessness do not fall through the cracks as they work with local agencies.

Members of the continuum of care system in the Savannah include the Economic Opportunity Authority, Georgia legal Services, Greenbriar Children's Center, Inner City Night Shelter, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Park Place Outreach, Inc., The Salvation Army, The Savannah Social Apostolate, and Union Mission. The Authority also maintains formal and informal service agreements with other community organizations, businesses, and consumer groups to ensure the coordination and quality of services.

HydraHope for the Homeless bottled water project was created by the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless to help raise funds and awareness to end homelessness in Chatham County.  HydraHope bottled water provides the community the means for individuals and organizations to use their everyday purchasing power to make a difference in the lives of persons experiencing homelessness.   A full 100% of the net profits are donated to the cause.

The water is manufactured through a partnership with GEM (Gateway Employment and Manufacturing) Industries, a subsidiary of Gateway Behavioral Health. GEM was founded to provide employment and job training to individuals with disabilities and mental health issues.
