Position Summary

The Executive Director is the face of Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless. This person provides overall agency leadership for the work of CSAH. This includes financial management, program direction, fund development, staff oversight, advocacy, and community leadership. This individual works closely with government officials, the business community the nonprofit community, and the community at large to reduce homelessness in Chatham County.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Plan, implement and maintain a continued effort to increase public awareness of CSAH, its mission and existing and potential solutions for the homeless population.
  2. Build community support and involvement for reduction and elimination of diverse homeless populations using various strategies including support of housing development.
  3. Represent Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless to express the needs of homeless persons to local, state, and federal government, the public, and the business community.
  4. Plan, implement and maintain appropriate business controls, reports, records, and procedures to ensure the most efficient, effective, and financially sound management.
  5. Serve as the monitor of existing services and facilitator for programs serving homeless persons, including the identification of gaps and duplication in the programs sponsored by local nonprofit service providers.
  6. Plan, implement and maintain an accurate count of the community’s homeless population and reports these findings annually to the community.
  7. Mobilize pertinent public and private agencies to effectively respond to the needs of the homeless persons.
  8. Oversee the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
  9. Pursue a diverse fund development strategy to ensure a healthy revenue mix for CSAH.
  10. Support the work of service providers via collaboration, education and shared programs and policies.
  11. Hire, supervise and annually evaluate paid staff.
  12. Recruit, train and oversee the work of volunteers and interns as needed.
  13. Coordinate planning and execution for the Chatham Savannah Continuum of Care as the director of the Collaborative Applicant agency.
Qualifications

A minimum of eight years of responsibility in a nonprofit setting. Excellent oral and written communication skills should be demonstrated, Strong finance and budgeting skills are important. Awareness and knowledge of strategic planning and program development are essential to the position. Demonstrate success in fund development including annual fundraising, major gifts, and events. Exhibit the ability to work with and through various agencies and their leadership to address needs and concerns of the homeless.
