Housing Veterans Exiting Homelessness

THE COVE

The Cove at Dundee is reducing veteran homelessness by providing a community of low-barrier, permanent, affordable tiny homes with onsite case management. Savannah's Veterans Tiny House Project was the first of its kind in the state of Georgia and has now become the model and impetus of numerous tiny house villages supporting the needs of veterans experiencing homelessness throughout the United States. Since its inception, the community has provided homes for more than 165 veterans. Our community has 46 tiny homes, 2 clubhouses with a laundromat, a medical clinic, gardens, a walking path, and a pavilion.

DUNDEE COTTAGES

Thanks to the strategic investments in affordable housing by our partners at the City of Savannah and Housing Savannah Inc., our vital partnership Community Housing Services Agency, Inc. and Chatham Savannah Land Bank Authority, Dundee Cottages, a 40-unit flexible housing development next to the Cove at Dundee, Veteran's Tiny House Community will provide deeply affordable housing for families with children and individuals exiting homelessness. Opened in 2026, the Cottages are first-of its-kind tiny home community for families and children exiting homelessness. Affordable, small homes with 3 different layouts will provide safe, quality housing for up to 126 people. This neighborhood has a caretaker cottage for maintenance and security, a 2500-square-foot resident services center with a computer lab, a laundromat, a private counseling office, and a community meeting room with a commercial kitchen.

PROJECT R.I.S.E.

Project R.I.S.E (Resilient, Innovative, Sustainable, Empowered) provides housing, case management, and wrap-around support to working families who are struggling to secure safe, affordable housing due to the housing crisis in our community.

Almost 40% of families in Chatham County are one financial crisis away from homelessness, and the percentage will continue to increase as the cost of living outpaces wages. Project R.I.S.E seeks to support families who, if provided an affordable housing opportunity, can successfully regain their self-sufficiency and financial independence.
