Our Mission and Role

Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless

MISSION

CSAH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to strategic approaches to addressing the challenges of homelessness. The CSAH mission is to lead the effort to build and sustain community practices to eliminate homelessness.

Founded in 1989 by the Georgia Legislature, CSAH acts as a coordinating and leadership body for homeless services in Chatham County. CSAH works in partnership with nonprofit service providers, government officials, business leaders, and the faith community to reduce and eliminate homelessness.

Annually in Chatham County, CSAH and its Continuum of Care (CoC) partners assist over 4,000 individuals, youth, and families. CSAH works with community leaders to educate the public about why homelessness occurs and advocates for needed change with elected officials, government and business leaders, and the nonprofit sector.
